The Toledo History Museum will be hosting a series of Behind the Scenes Tours of Toledo's Safety Building on Saturday, May 12th from 10:00 am to noon.
"This tour kicks off a week-long memorial for Toledo Police officers who have fallen in the line of duty," said Eric Wagner, Program Committee Chair for THM. "We're very honored to be the first group to host a tour of this incredibly historic buidling during such an important time of the year." The 45 minute tours will include some steep stairs and visits into tight spaces; it’s not recommended for young children or those with health problems, and the minimum age is 6 years old.
In addition to the Behind the Scenes tours on Saturday, May 12th, the public is invited to gather with officers on Wednesday, May 16th at 12:00 pm to remember the Toledo police officers killed in the line of duty. The event takes place at the Toledo Police Memorial Garden located behind the Safety Building. The annual service includes the reading of the names of those killed in the line of duty.
